Hi! My name is Louie, and as a lot of you know, I’m a Story Pirate.

Story Pirates are a group of comedians, actors, musicians, puppeteers and teachers that go into schools, run amazing creative writing workshops and make them into big, loud, crazy shows to perform for the kid-authors of the stories!

These shows inspire kids to write more and prove to these kids that their words and ideas are important.

Every year we serve over two-hundred low income schools with Story Pirates programs and we need your help! So, I’m trying to raise $2000 by June 14th to continue the important work we do in schools across the country and beyond.

This year, we’re dedicating all of our fundraising efforts to teachers that made a difference in our lives. I’m dedicating my fundraising to Brigid Stewart, an amazing teacher from Strathcona Tweedsmuir school in Okotoks, Alberta who directed me in six plays during junior high and high school and helped make me the crazy guy that I am today!

If you donate money to Story Pirates in honor of a teacher that inspired you, the Story Pirates will spread the love by writing a thank you note to the teacher of your choice shouting out to them on our facebook page and more! So your love of your teacher who inspired you helps the Story Pirates inspire countless kids that need our help.

Not only that, but your donation will get you some awesome prizes that you can check out here.

If you don’t have any spare funds to donate to the Story Pirates cause, you can still donate your voice!

Ultimately our goal is to celebrate the ideas of young people, and one of the best ways we can do that is by continuing to have conversations about how to make education the best it can be.

Here are the rewards the Story Pirates and I will provide for your donation:

$25 – The Story Pirates will give a shout-out to the educator of your choice on our facebook wall.

$40 - Back by popular demand, Louie will make you a personalized Sixties Bubblegum Music Mix CD and mail it to you!

$50 – The pirates will dedicate a post to the educator of your choice on our Facebook wall and twitter feed.

$100 – The Story Pirates will send a thank-you letter to the educator of your choice

$1000 - Story Pirates will write a song for the educator of your choice, and post a video of the Story Pirates singing the song on the Story Pirates YouTube page!
