Hello Tumblr World!
I’m from an awesome organization called Story Pirates, which teams up experienced educators with improv comedians, and creates hilarious, memorable classroom learning experiences for elementary school students. There’s more about us here: www.storypirates.org
We started this Tumblr because we’re interested in what education is going to be like in the future, and we wanted to start a social media conversation about that question.
For this first week, we’re interested in what makes an inspiring teacher. How does an inspiring teacher affect learning? What kinds of personal stories do people have about teachers who have inspired them? We’ll be posting more on this question soon, or feel free to email us with your own thoughts and suggestions at firstname.lastname@example.org
Follow this cool new Story Pirates education tumblr! Especially if you are interested in cool advancements in education!Source: educationinthefuture

Story Pirates Fundraising Update
We’re almost there!!!! Because of the amazing generosity over the last day of Sandra Engstrom, Jennifer Lindahl, Marc Wilkinson, Tina O’Grady & Phillip Williams(I’m guessing, because he’s married to Tina he donated too and maybe I’m assuming too much) I am VERY CLOSE to achieving my initial goal for $2000 towards Story Pirates literacy and arts programs in low-income schools!
I’ve got 14 more days to raise $24 more bucks! I may have to up my goal! Because of you guys, more kids are learning and growing and becoming better learners and communicators. I thank you and the future of Planet Earth thanks you!
Story Pirates Fundraising update:
Thanks to some generous donations from James Munves, Trish Mayer, Diane Schapira, Jeffrey Paul Bobrick, Hope Holliner, Tara Varney, Faith Moore, Sean Harvey, Rachel Schapira, Andy Moskowitz and some anonymous donors, I’m very close to my $2000 goal.
All the money will go to arts and literacy programs in under-funded schools!
Thanks everyone! I’ve got 17 more days to raise $145! I may have to up my goal. We’ll see. Thanks for your support, everyone!
And of course, reblogging, RTing, facebook shares and likes all help too!
Thank thank you thank you to Covy Holland for his generous donation of $1000 (wow) to Story Pirates! Kids from low-income schools are learning, expressing themselves, becoming better writers and (dare I say it) global citizens? Because of him.
As a prize, I’m writing him a song on my ukulele and Story Pirates will be writing a song in honor of his favorite teacher, Jason Lewis!
I’ve got 20 more days and $840 more dollars to raise! Every little bit helps! If you can’t spare the bucks, spread the love by facebooking, tweeting, reblogging, instragramming, going out into the street and screaming your love about this campaign! Yay!
